To the Senate and House of Representatives of the U.S. of America assembled
Your petitioners of Winslow and its vicinity in the State of Illinois, would respectfully represent to your honourable body, that they labour under great inconvenience in consequence of not having a direct mail route from this place to the city of Galena, and that a direct communication with Galena can be opened by establishing a Mail route from to Commence at Winslow in Stephenson County, and end at F. A. Tisdell’s ^Warren P. O^ in JoDavis County a distance of Eleven miles, connecting at that place with the daily line from Chicago to Galena, Your petitioners would farther request that the mail be carried over said route twice each week. Your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray
