The undersigned inhabitents of the Counties of Kane and McHenry State of Illinois would most respectfully represent, that the ^Citizens in^ North part of Kane County and the South part of McHenry is entirely destitute of mail facilities, the center of their Settlement being distant from Six to Twelve Miles from any Post Office or Post road, and there is a public road, very much traveld, running from Dundee in Kane County to Marengo or Pleasent Grove in McHenry County, we therefore pray that You will declare the road leading from Dundee Kane County to Marengo McHenry County to be a Post road and as in duty bound will ever pray &c
