To the Honorable the Congress of the United States of America.
We the undesigned petitioners, citizens of the Parishes, Catahoula Rappiedes and Natchitaches, in the
state of Louisiana;
Respectfully Represent to your Honorable body we labour under maney disadvantages owing to the scarcity of Mail routs and Post offices in our section
of the Union. Many of of the undesigned citizens of this petition resides from twenty-five to fifty miles to the neareset post office, [Wherefore?] we pray your Honorable Body to astablish a mail Rout (and put in operation the one that is already established) from Harrisonburgh
in the Parish of Catahoula to the town of Natchatoches the Mail to be carried once
a week and the following Post offices on the said rout [(ss)?] and at [...?] ^Kornsvill^ twenty five miles from Harrisonburgh and at [Desgdemonia?] fourty five miles from Harrisonburgh, and at [Thompson spring?] thirty miles East of Natchitoches
We would also inform your Honorable ^Body^ that there is a large public Road running over high ground the whole extent of this
rout, and passible during all seasons of the year it being the principle rout of travel from several
of the Eastern Western states to the State of Texas And we hereby instruct our senators in Congress
and Representatives the Honorable
