To the Honerable post Master general of the United states of America
Therefore we the undersigned Citizens of the state of Tennessee do represent to your houner that whereas we your humble petitioners of our section of the country have Laboured under considerable inconveincy in consequence of Being at a great distence from any post office, we are destitue of being able to get any News either by Letters or papers. We therefore pray your houner to ^give^ us a ^horse^ Mail Rout from Bay mount in greene County to Rogersville in Hawkins County, a distence of a bout Eighteen miles, and to Establish a post office at Edward Walkers, and give it the name of Whitehorn which is in Hawkins County and to apoint the said Walker post master, as, we believe him to be Compatent and qualified for the office (we also to do represent to your houner that we live in a large and populer Country and Being thus destitue, we think it is Justly due to us, as it will give the North News from the North to the south, Being connected ^with the^ mail routs from all directions

We the undersigned do wish you to take this petetion and superintend the geting of the proposed mail Rout
To start at Bay mount in green County on Evry Tuseday morning Than to Walkers ^in Hawkins County^ with the Road to Rogersville, and back the same day. To go by Rices upper Ferry The proposed Rout will give us a good Chance to get the southeren and northeren News, as there no Direct Communication through all this Country. The distance from Bay mount to Walkers is about Eight Miles, and a bout ten Miles from there to Rogersville, by so doing you will oblige many of your friends
