To the Honorable Members of the Senate and House of Representatives in Congress assembled
Your Petitioners citizens of Coshocton County in the State of Ohio humbly represent
to your Honorable Body that a post Route is verry much needed connecting the Route
now established from Coshocton to Danville in Knox county by way of Warsaw and the
Route from Wooster to Umphreysville post office on Woolf Creek in Holmes County so
as to pass through the Vilage of Van Buren in said Coshocton County.
Said Vilage of Van Buren is situated about half way between Warsaw and Umphreysville
post office being about six miles from each and those being the nearest Post Office
said town of Van Buren and the whole intermediate section of country. Said Umphreysville
post office is now the terminis of the route from Wooster in that direction. Your
Petitioners Pray your Honorable Body to pass a law extending the route from Umphreysville
to Warsaw by way of Van Buren. Your Petitioners represent further that in their opinion
the advantage to be derived to the post office Department by the establishment of
said route would be at least equal to the additional expence in consequence of the
extention of said route And besides this be a great accommodation and advantage to
the inhabitance Residing in the country or a large portion of it between Warsaw and
Umphreysville post office & your petitioners as in Duty bound will ever pray &c
