Enclosed you find a pettion [Largely?] signed for the Establisment of a post Route from Kittoning ^Armstrong Co^ to Luthersburg in Cleerfield Co) there is a Route Established from this place by
[...?] the way of Rural village Schmicksburg to Ewings mills in Indiana County, so far as
Schmicksburg is a the same Route, and I am Contractor on that Route—the number is 1656. these pettions is for the Extension of the Route. Ewings mill post office is 4 miles from Smicksburg
and about 2 miles off the Direct Route to Luthersburg but it is the termination of
Route 1656 and if Congress would Extend the Route Ewings mill Can be supplyd without any additional Expense and I would be willing to have the Dept order me to
carry it on to Luthersburg for PPro Ratia allowance. the turpike spoke of in the petition I will Draft so you can move [on & deliver?] some knowledge of the matter and your attention to the matter will confer a particular
favor on your frien.
