To the honourable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled:
The petition of the Subscribers, Citizens of the County of Armstrong, in the State of Pennsylvania, respectfully Sheweth:
That your petitioners labour under great inconveniences, for want of a Mail route, leading from Kittanning, in Armstrong county, by way of Cochran’s Mill, to Apollo, in the aforesaid county, (a distance of about twenty-four miles) and for want of a Post Office, at Cochran’s Mill, (to be called Cochran’s Mill Post Office) Your petitioners would further respectfully Shew: That the Country through which Said Mail rout would pass is thickly Settled, and that the nearest Post Office to Said Mill, is about eight miles, and that a proposition has been made to carry the Mail over the Said route, for the revenue arising therefrom. Your petitioners therefore respectfully pray your honourable body, to pass a law, establishing Said Mail route and Post Office, And your petitioners as in duty bound will pray &c.
