To the honorable theCongress of the United States
Your petitioners, citizens, of Osage and Gasconade counties, respectfully ask the passage of a law, establishing a post route from the town of Hermann, in Gasconade county, to the town of Linn, in Osage county. We would represent to your honorable body that we are now laboring under great inconvenience and expense for want of such route, having, many of us, to go some 12 or 15 miles to get our letters, newspapers &C. &C., that being the nearest post office; and that on the opposite side of the Missouri river. Your petitioners conceive the establishment of such route would be but an act of sheer, justice, and therefore most earnestly call the attention of your honorable body to their prayer.
