To the Congress of the United States,
The undersigned Inhabitants of the Town’s of Amherst and Aurora in the County of Hancock and State of Maine, Respectfully Reppresent, that they suffer great inconveniance and delay in the receipt of their Mails, on account of the Mail Routs. as now established, and the way and manner which the mails are sent to them; They are situated twenty two miles to the eastward of the City of Bangor, and their mails, instead of being sent to them on a good road directly from that City are carried to Ellsworth, some twenty six miles, and sent from thence, about the same distance to this place;
Your Petitioners therefore respectfully request that a mail Rout may be established directly from the City of Bangor, to the Town of Aurora, and as in duty bound will ever pray,
