We the under signed Citizens of the Township of [?] in the County of Defiance and State of Ohio, would respectfully ask leave to petition your honorable body for the passage of a Law establishing a Mail rout from Defiance in Defiance County by Way of Brunesburgh thence up the Maumee River By Way of Snooksvill in Section (22) Range (3) East Town 4)north), Thence to Cranesvill on the Ground where the old Office was first established, Thence to Wadsworthvill on the Maume river some eight miles further up the river, Thence to Hicksville, Thence to Panama making a distance of about thirty five miles.

The undersigned would represent a few of the facts which impell them to trouble your honorable body with their Grievances at this time, Being compelled since the discontinuance of the mail rout on the other south side of the Maume River to Go to Defiance for all their mail a distance from this place (Snooksvill) of about eight miles, and the people residing in the interior is compelled to travel Still a Greater distance. The Citizens of Cranesvill has to go to Antwerp a Distance of about eight mils for all their mail, which is doing a great injustice to ^the^ [pioaneer?] of the western portion of Ohio; and we as in duty bound will ever pray.
