To the honorable the Congress of the U.S.
We the undersigned, do respectfully pray your Honorable body to establish a post route from Damascus S.C. via James Ezells to Hicksville N.C. a distance of 13 miles: as we are destitute of Post offices; there not being any route now in [ex]istence, by which we can be furnished with mail facilities: and on account of which we are aggrieved, and subjected to great inconveniance and trouble.
We therefore trust that the same accommodation will be afforded us, that is general extended to other neighborhoods, by the establishment of the proposed route, by which means our interest will be promoted, and we as in duty bound will every pray.
