To the Hon. the Congress of the United States.
The ^undersigned^ petitioners of the undersigned taxable inhabitants residing on and near the line of the proposed Post road and Mail
route in the [annext?] Map Described respectfully represent
1st that the Establishment of the proposed Post road and Mail ^route^ from the City of Albany to Greenville through Bethlehem New Scotland Coeymans and
Westerlo would be a great Conveinence to your petitioners many of & whom reside at
Distances varying from 4 to 10 Miles from Established post Offices of the facilities
of which they Can avail themselves.

that owing to the want of Connexion between the Different Post office now Established near the residence of your petitioners, their Newspapers and letters are frequently Delayed Several Days before reaching their place of Destination thereby Causing great Delay and Embarrassment in the business relations of your petitioners.

3d that the Establishment of the proposed Post road and Mail route would open a Direct
Communication between the County of Greene and the City of Albany from which last
named place most of your petitioners obtain their Newspapers and and that may of your
petitioners have Extensive business relations with: both Sections of County
4th that many hundreds of News papers and letters are Annually Carried along the line
of the proposed Route by private Conveyance which were Such Road Established would
be Conveyed by Mail
5th that your petitioners believe that were Such Post road and Mail Route Established
it would not only pay its own Expenses but that a Considerable revanew would would
accrue to the Post office Department beyond the Expenses of running the route
