To the Senate and House of Representatives of the state of Iowa in General Assembly ^United States^convened
your petitioners citizens of the counties of Wapello and Davis pray your Honorable body t[o?]— Memoralize [C?]ongress to establish the following described mailrout to wit, Commencing at Agency City in Wapello County thence to Land point in said county thence to Floris in Davis County there intersecting a mail rout from [Irwin?]ville to Bloomfield
Your Petitioners further represent that the citizens of this vicinity labor under great inconvenience for the want of the aforessaid mail route that there is no post office on the south side of the Desmoines river within ten miles of either of the aforesaid poinst. and is in duty bound your petitioners will be ever pray &.c.
