We have Pettitioned the Post Office Department to Grant us a Post Rout from Hopewell Post Office in Bedford
Co 9 miles from Bloody on the Rout from Yellowsprings to Bloody Run Vai Martensburg
and Leave said rout at Hopewell, P. O. on said Rout and pass Through Broadtop Through
Creek Valley Cassville in Huntingdon County to Mill Creek in said County
The above Rout will Pass through a Section of Country Heretofore which has never
had any advantages from mail communications and the Pettitioners verily Believe That said Rout (in case it should meet the approbation of The Department) Will pay
all Expences and will not be any additional incumbrance to the Department but will
Connect in a messure the Eastern & Northern Line of Turnpike completing a speedy connection of said Important
Thorofares This will be an important advantage to the broadtop Neighborhood which all said inhabitants
Live Remote from any Post offices Now Established
We Respectfully ^ask^ you to assist us in the Establishment of this Rout as it will in time create many
new Post offices which, I, think will be an advantage to The[?] Department as we have been yours friends we hope you will assist us in this matter
