The undersigned residents of the counties of Ionia and Kent in the state of Michigan
Would respectfully request your honorable body to pass an act establishing a mail
route from Grand Rapids in the County of Kent to Lyons in the County of Ionia by the
way of Plainfield Cannonsburg and Grattan in the County of Kent and Otisco Wheatland
& North Plains in the County of Ionia The undersigned would respecfully represent that the above route is now all settled. That it runs through Township
Seven North Range Eleven West Eight North Range [&?] Eight North Ranges ten, nine, Eight, Seven & six to Seven North Range five West as
will [...?]appear by the accompanying plat of Said Route and the contiguous country They would
also further represent that they are now mainly supplied by Irregular, Side mails,
on short routes most of which can be discontinued without detriment to the public
interests
