To the Honorable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States in Congress Assembled.
The petition of the Subscribers inhabitants of the Counties of LaSalle and De Kalb in the State of Illinois Respectfully Represent
That your petitioners are desirous that a mail rout should be established between Sycamore in the county of DeKalb and the mouth of the Somonoc Creek in the county of LaSalle on the State Road leading from Springfield in Illinois to Madison in Wisconsin—so as to intersect the mail rout now leading up Fox river at the mouth of Somonoc creek. That three large settlements in the north part of LaSalle County and the south part of DeKalb County with about five hundred inhabitants are for all practical purposes deprived of mail privileges.
Your petitioners therefore pray that a law may be passed establishing a mail rout on the road between the points above designated.
