To the Senate & House of Representatives of the United States, in Congress assembled:
The petition of the undersigned, citizens of Mercer and Crawford counties, Pa. respectfully
represent that they labor under great inconvenience for the want of a mail route from
the Borough of Mercer, Mercer county to Sugar creek, Crawford county, and we therefore
pray your honorable bodies that the road leading from Mercer, by the way of D. Zahniser’s,
Sandy-Lake, ^[Broons?] Mills^ New Lebanon, Deer creek, and Cochran town, to Sugar creek post-office, be declared
a post road of the United states, and we will ever pray, &c.
