To the Honble Senate & House of Representatives in General Congress assembled,
We the undersigned Citizens of Illinois respectfully represent to you that we are inconveniently situated in regard to Post Offices, that some of us are by the present arrangement of the Post Offices compelled to travel from 3 to 15 miles; that in our opinion more Offices in this section of country would increase the amount of mail matter and certainly benefit the People, and for these reasons we request you to use your authority & establish a mail route from Ewington on the National Road, thence north through Cochrans Grove and Sullivan to Decatur. and as in duty we will ever pray.
