To the Post Master General of the United States
We the undersigned Respectfully Represent that in consequence of new facilities offered by the opening of th[e?] Cheshire and Sullivan Rail Roads it has become highly necessary for the accommodation of the Towns situated on ^the^ valley of Cold River of that a new mail route should be established for supplying in part the Post Offices on that line; Therefore, We the undersigned petitioners, Inhabitants of Paper Mill Village, Langdon, Acworth[,?] Lempster, East Unity and Newport, Respectfully pray that the Petition of Barnebas C. Peters & others for a new mail Route from Bellows Falls through Drewsvill & Langdon to Paper Mill Village may be complied with and also that the same may be continued up the Valley of said Cold River & through the Towns of Acworth, Lempster and East Unity to Newport to run three times in a week, it being the number of times that Messrs Huntington & Armstrong run a four horse Stage Coach on said route
