To the Honorable the Senate and House of Represantatives in Congress
We the undersigned Citizen of the Southern Part of the Counties of Mercer and Auglaize
Ohio, would respectfull pray Your honorable Body for the Establisehment of a Cross
Mail from Fort Recoverey in Mercer county throug the Town of St. Henry and St John
to Minnster in Auglaize County interesting the Piqua and Fort Wayne Mail at Minnster,
and the Mail from gransville in Dark County North through Fort Recoverey Montezuma
Celina and Van Wert. The lenght of the Servic on this route would be twenty two Miles
running through the most Wealthy and tickest settled part of the Country who have
no means of obtaining Mail matters with out a great inconvineance having now to travel
a distance from six to eight miles to reach an office, and it is believed that the
income from such a route would be as great if not greater in Proportion to Distance
and Amount of Service to most Mail Routes in this Section of the Country on the Establisehment
of such a route would be of great Conviniance and route interest of those Residing
on or near said route as well as the public generally And Your Petitioner would further
Pray that ^Henry Beckman^ may be appointed Deputy for the office at St Henry and Mathias gast for the office
at St John and that the Mail may be carried as follows Leave Minnster on Monday at
stay eight o Clock A.M. and return next day or Leave Fort Recoverey on Monday at Eight
