To the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States:
We, the Petitioners, have seen with much satisfaction the Report of the Committee of the House for the reduction of Postage, viz: making Newspapers of particular size free 30 miles, and a uniform rate for Letters at five cents—believing that the whole People of the United States demand this reform. We cannot but express our full conviction of this just measure, and earnestly urge upon Congress, now in session, to accomplish its passage before the adjournment.
