Asheville N 3d Jany 1848Honbl Sir,
I had expected long since to have attained some of the mineralogical specimens from
my little farm, but after trying to find them I had to give it up until plowing is
done on that particular part; but when that is done, if the source of[?]are to be found I will send to you.
Your speech is before us, though only in the Intelligencer, more would do well inter nos for it is highly appreciated by your friends.

properly paid for, it being entirely a night service and the fact that the distribution

of 20 per cent on the delivery, or the difference between 30 & 50.
Your Speech is lauded &c &c friends well no changes except the gradual improvement
of the villages, and the establishment built of a stock on Dr Hardys farm on Swannane for a paper mile, worth $3000; this will doubtless introduce
spinners from Pa also. Dugger of Cranberry Iron works has sold out to 2 Pennsylvanians.
hold on and tell what our resources (natural) are and ere long we we’ll be an[united?] people
Some person is writing about the mineral value of N.C. the western but I think were
he is far short of the mark as to its exact or valuableness.
Your friends are well and doubtless would all wish you, as I do, well
