Whereas, Many of the officers and old soldiers of the war of 1812 with Great Brittian, are now labouring under pecuniary embarrassments, many of whom without homes; and unable to work and whereas, the Government of the united States having a large portion of Public domain to dispose of, a part of which they have already donated to officers & Soldiers now engaged in the war between this country and the republic of mexico, Therefore your petitioners would most respectfully ask your Honorable body to make the same or similar provisions for those of the war of 1812, that has been made for the Present War.
