To the Honorable, the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States in
Congress assembled:
The petition of divers inhabitants of the counties of Columbia, Dodge & Marquette
in the State of Wisconsin respectfully sheweth: That a large portion of the citizens
of said counties suffer great inconvenience for want of a mail route, commencing at
Columbus and running thence, north, to Lake Puckaway by way of Polk Prairie Post office.
Your petitioners therefore request your honorable bodies to establish a mail route
on the above described line touching at the point aforesaid, and to authorize a mail
to be carried on said route at least once in each week
And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
