Joint Resolution
^Resolved^ By the General Assembly of the State of Iowa That Whereas Iowa and Wisconsin lying
contiguous to each other are not connected by mail rout at any point in consequence
of which a large tract of settled country in the counties of Clayton and Winnashiek
is deprived of mail priorities
Therefore resolved that A C Dodge and G W Jones our Senators and S Leffler and Wm Thompson our Representatives in Congress be and are hereby instructed to use their
best endeavors for the establishment of a mail rout from Prairie Du Chein to Fort
Atkinson in Winnashiek County.
Resolved That the Secretary of State be and is hereby requested to forward a copy
of the above resolution at the earliest practicable period to our Senators and Representatives
in Congress
