Whereas, the citizens of Hitchapocksasser, Old Tampa and Mannatee Settlements in the County of Hillsborough and state of Florida are entirely without mail facilities without traveling to Tampa in said County, being the nearest Post Office to them, a distance from thirty to fifty miles; & whereas also, it is believed, that a mail Route from Tampa to the above named settlements will defray all expenses and compensate the Government for the establishment of said Mail Routes: Therefore

Section 1^st Be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Florida, in General assembly concurred, That our Senators & Representative in Congress be and they are hereby requested, that, as soon as they shall have received instructions from the citizens of any or each of the above named settlements, designating the most suitable & convenient place of establishing a Post Office in their & each of their respective settlements, to use their influence to get the aforesaid Mail Routes established and also the Post Offices, according to the instructions which may be given Them by the citizens of said settlements.

Section 2. Be it further Resolved, That the Governor of this state be requested that immediately after the passage of the above resolution, he send, or cause to be sent, a copy of the same to our Senators and Representative in Congress.
