Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly. That, hereafter, all houses or places of public worship, [toge]ther with the lot of ground on which said buildings [ted?], Provided such lot belongs to the religious society who built thereon, Are hereby exonerated from all taxation of any kind whatever. Any law now in force to the contrary notwithstanding.
