Sec[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General assembly, That the county Commissioners Court of the county of Ogle be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to levy and collect a tax not to

1On December 22, 1840, George W. Harrison in the Senate presented the petition of the county commissioners of Ogle County, requesting permission to levy an additional tax. The Senate referred the petition
to the Committee on the Judiciary. In response to this petition, Noah Johnston of the Committee on the Judiciary introduced SB 81 on January 4, 1841. The Senate
passed the bill on January 12. On January 21, the House of Representatives tabled the bill.
