An ACT to change the name of a person therein named.

Change of name
Sec. [Section]1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the name of Mary E. Brown, of Morgan county, be, and the same is hereby changed to that of Mary E. Stribling.2

1John J. Hardin introduced HB 73 to the House of Representatives on December 29, 1840. On January 4, 1841, the House amended the bill by adding “E.” to the name in question, and passed the bill as amended. The Senate passed the bill on January 19. The Council of Revision approved the bill on January 26 and the act became law.
