An ACT making partial Appropriations.

Auditor to issue warrants to members, speakers, clerks, &c.[etc]
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the Auditor of Public Accounts be, and he is hereby required to draw warrants on the treasury for the sum of one hundred dollars to each member of the General Assembly, and a like warrant to the Speakers of each House, the Secretary of the Senate, and (the) Clerk of the House of Representatives, and assistants of each house, to each of the enrolling and engrossing clerks, and door keepers, and each assistant door keeper of both houses; and also one hundred dollars each to the copyists of the journals of each house.2

1Ebenezer Peck introduced HB 15 to the House of Representatives on December 10, 1840. The House amended and passed the bill the next day. The Senate passed the bill on December 15. The Council of Revision approved the bill on December 18 and the act became law.
