Resolved that the President be requested to communicate to this House any correspondence
which may have ^recently^ taken place with the British Government, relative to the adoption of principles of
reciprocity in the trade and shipping of the two countries, provided the same ^such communication^ shall not, in his judgment, conflict with the public interest.
