Resolved that the President of the United States be requested to cause to be communicated to this House any corrispondence on file in any of the Departments of the Government in regard to the duties, at this time paid, on American Tobacco sent to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, since the year 1840, together with any instructions given by the President or any officer of this Government to the ^Diplomatic^ Representatives of [...?] thereof in England, or other Countries, in regard to ^a diminution of^ such duties.
