To the Honourable, The Senate, and House of Representatives; of the United, States, of, America, in Congress assembled.
The petition of the undersigned Inhabitants of the Countie’s of Sheboygan and Fon du lac Wisconsin respectfully1 Sheweth.
That, a Road is now opened, from Sheboygan, Falls in Sheboygan County, running in a South Westerly direction, to Auburn, Post Office, on Post Rout Number 4462 in Fon du lac County. a through Township’s Number 14 Range 22 Township number 14 Range 21 and Township number 14 Range 20 a distance ^of^ Thirtyfive Miles. and that the Land on said Road is nearly all taken, And setled by actual setlers, and that there is not a Post Office on said Road, and that the Inhabitants on And near said Road are labouring under great inconvenience in consequence of their ^being^ no Post Office in their Vicinity.
Therefore, your Petitioners do request, that your Honourable Body, will establish a Post rout, and, as soon as practible; a Mail to be carried once a Week each way. Commencing at Sheboygan Falls, thence Southwesterly on Said Madison Road (so called) to Auburn Post Office, And that you Establish a Post Office six miles from the Falls under the denomination of Wakefield, Orin Rogers Post Master. and another about Twelve miles from the Falls under the denomination of Cascade, James. Preston. Post. Master.
And your Petitioners as in duty Bound will pray.
