Resolved, That the Governor be requested to transmit to this House all communications which he may have received from Mr. Delafield, and the bankers to whom bonds have been sold, and which are now in a state of litigation relative to said bonds.
1Richard Murphy introduced the resolution in the House of Representatives on December 16, 1840, and the House adopted it. On December 21, the House received communication from Governor Thomas Carlin in response to this resolution, accompanied with correspondence between Carlin and Joseph Delafield. The House referred this correspondence to the Committee on Finance, on which sat Abraham Lincoln, for action.
