Resolved, That the Governor be requested to transmit by mail to the Secretary of the Treasury
of the United States a certified copy of the act passed at this General Assembly authorizing the Treasurer to receive from the United States a distributive share
of the surplus revenue of the United States.2
1On December 24, 1836, William Thomas introduced the resolution in the Senate, and the Senate adopted it. The House of Representatives concurred on the same day.
