Resolved, That the President and acting Commissioner of the Board of Canal Commissioners be
requested to inform this House, whether or not the office of Treasurer of the Canal Board cannot be dispensed with,
without detriment to the public interest, and if so, in what manner the duties now
required to be performed by the Treasurer may best be discharged[.]
