Resolved, That the Governor be respectfully requested to transmit to this House, copies of any further correspondence which he may have had with the Commissioners
for negotiating loans for Canal purposes, touching the sale of one million of Bonds
to the United States Bank.
1George Smith introduced the resolution in the House of Representatives on December 21, 1839, and the House adopted it. On December 28, Governor Thomas Carlin responded, and the House referred this communication to the Committee on Canals and
Canal Lands.
