Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Illinois, That the Secretary of State be directed to purchase, for the use of the State, any number of copies of Breese’s Reports of the Decisions of the Supreme Court of this State, not exceeding fifty, at a price not exceeding two dollars and fifty cents per volume.
1On January 3, 1839, William Thomas introduced the resolution in the Senate, and the Senate adopted it the same day. On January 3, the House of Representatives referred the resolution to the Committee on the Judiciary. On January 5, the Committee on the Judiciary reported back and recommended rejection of the resolution. The same day, the House refused to adopt the resolution.
