in the County of Sangamon and State of Illinois on the twentieth day of January in
the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and forty seven the following named
persons received the numter of votes annexed to their respective names for the following
office a poll to fill the vacancy occasioned by [the?] resignation of E. D. Baker [Esqir?] on Poll Book No 2. to wit

I James W. Keyes Justice of the Peace in and for said County, do hereby Certify, that
Wm B. Carter, Philo Beers, and Gershom Keyes, were by me duly sworn to perform the duties
of judges of the election aforesaid, according to law and the best of their ability,
that the would studiously endeavor to prevent fraud, deceit, and abuse, in conducting
the same, and H. F. Luckett and William Porter were by me sworn in like manner, as
Clerks of said Election.

following office, to wit on Poll Book No 2, to wit John Henry received one hundred and twenty two votes for Representative
to Congress.
Israel W. Crosby received Ninety Seven votes for Representative to Congress
Archibald Job, received ten votes for Representative to Congress. To fill the vacancy
occasioned by the resignation of the Hon. E. D. Baker.
