Hayes & Zell was a book publishing company and book and stationary wholesaler that operated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the mid-nineteenth century. Formerly known as Troutman & Hayes, T. Ellwood Zell purchased J. H. Troutman's interest in the company in 1854. Hayes & Zell's offices were located at 193 Market Street. The firm published scholarly, educational, and trade books. In 1860, Zell became sole owner of the company.
