Hooe, Brother & Company was a mercantile business operated by Peter H. Hooe, Robert A. Hooe, James B. Nalle, and other partners. In 1853, Peter Hooe was operating a shop on Lafayette Avenue between Seventh and Eighth streets in Washington. By 1860, Peter, Robert, and their partners had a dry goods business at 10 Market Space.
