Alexander, Urban

Died: 1853-12-20 Hopkins County, Texas

Alexander moved to Sangamon County, Illinois, in 1820 and settled along Richland Creek. He married Mary Ann Drennan in 1831, with whom he had six children. During the Black Hawk War, Alexander served in Abraham Lincoln's company of the 4th Illinois Regiment of Mounted Volunteers. Later, he moved to Des Moines County, Iowa, but returned to Sangamon County. In 1844, Alexander left Illinois for Fannin County, Texas. He later relocated to Hopkins County, where he died in 1853 after being thrown from a wagon.
