Baker, Jesse

Baker moved to what is now Morgan County, with his family in 1816. Sometime around 1825, he settled near New Salem, Illinois, where he first met Abraham Lincoln. On February 28, 1824, Baker married Christiana Teter in Sangamon County, Illinois. In 1833, he moved to what is now Mason County, Illinois, where he raised his family and made a living as a farmer.
