Blakeman, Jr., Curtis

A Whig, Blakeman won election to the Illinois House of Representatives in 1842 and served until 1843. He returned to the House in 1846 and remained until 1850. During the Civil War, he served as captain of the 117th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Blakeman's wife was Sarah Reynolds. In 1860, he was working as a farmer with seven children, and owned $20,000 in real estate and $5,000 in personal property.
