Broadwell, John B.

Born: 1797-09-27 Hamilton County, Ohio

Son of Moses Broadwell, John B. Broadwell married Betsy Pratt on March 29, 1817, and they had three children. He moved to St. Louis, and in November 1819, became one of the early settlers of Cartwright township in Sangamon County, Illinois. He was appointed as one of three commissioners to establish a state road from Petersburg in Menard County to Waverly in Morgan County. In 1857, Broadwell was a merchant with his son. He later sold his property to William Carson and moved to Kansas.
