Isaac W. Campbell was a farmer. In 1836, he married Elizabeth Crain, with whom he had at least three children. They settled in Williamson County, Illinois, where he acquired more than 300 acres of public land between 1849 and 1853. His fortunes improved over time. In 1850 he owned $1,300 in real estate, but by 1860 he owned $7,500 in real estate and another $3,780 in personal property. He died of cirrhosis of the liver.
