Cox, Henry

From April to May of 1832, Cox served as a private in Abraham Lincoln's company of Samuel Whiteside's 4th Regiment of Mounted Volunteers in the Black Hawk War. In November of that year, he married Susan Hohimer in Sangamon County. In 1840, Cox was a farmer living with his family in Benton County, Missouri, in a neighborhood that included several other Cox and Hohimer families. Cox continued to farm and live in Alexander, Benton County, until his death.
