Cummins, William

In 1818, Cummins moved with his father to Sangamon County, Illinois, where he became a farmer. He married Catherine Cox. During the Black Hawk War, Cummins served in Abraham Lincoln's company of volunteer militia. He lived in Sangamon County in 1840, but in 1848 he moved to Wapello County, Iowa, where he continued farming.
