Elmore, Peter

Born: 1795 North Carolina

As early as 1828, Elmore resided in Sangamon County, Illinois. From 1828 to 1835, he purchased 400 acres of federal land that would later be part of Menard County. In 1860, he was living in Menard County in the household of his son, where he farmed, and he owned over $4,000 worth of real estate.
