Freedley, John

Freedley attended public school and Norristown Academy. He served as an assistant to his father, who operated a brickyard. He studied law and earned admittance to the bar in 1820. He started a law practice in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Freedley became interested in marble and soapstone quarries. He won election, as a Whig, to the U. S. House of Representatives, serving from 1847-1851.
